CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Conservation and wildlife management in Manitoba and across Canada face unprecedented challenges. Rapid environmental change, shifting land use, and increasing pressures on biodiversity have created new uncertainties for wildlife professionals. This joint meeting provides a vital forum for sharing knowledge, innovative strategies, and collaborative approaches to ensure the resilience of wildlife populations and ecosystems in these uncertain times.
You are invited to submit titles and abstracts for oral presentations and posters at the 2026 joint conference of The Wildlife Society – Manitoba Chapter and the Canadian Section of The Wildlife Society. Presentations on all aspects of wildlife are welcome including ecology, management, research, monitoring, species biology, genetics, conservation policy, and new techniques.
Presentation Types
• Oral Presentations – 12 minutes + 3 minutes for questions.
• Posters – Displayed throughout the conference, with a dedicated poster session.
Abstract Guidelines
Abstract submissions must include:
– Lead author name, affiliation, bio, mailing address, phone number, and email address
– Names and affiliations of additional authors
– Title of abstract
– Distillation of purpose, methods, results, and conclusions (maximum 250 words)
The abstract you submit will be the final version printed in the program.
Deadlines & Notification
• Abstract submission deadline: January 19, 2026
• Notification of acceptance: January 30, 2026
• Final conference schedule released: March 1, 2026
