Wildlife Student of the Year Award

The Manitoba Chapter of The Wildlife Society (MCTWS) is seeking nominations for the Wildlife Student of the Year award. This award recognizes an exceptional post-secondary student (diploma, undergraduate or graduate) at a Manitoba college or university in wildlife and/or wildlife related program. The applicant is evaluated by the Executive on their academic achievement, wildlife related extracurricular activities and letters of recommendation, usually from faculty members or wildlife professionals. Any professional may nominate students. The student’s transcript and resume are required as a part of the submission materials, which may necessitate involvement of the student in the nomination process.

One individual will be selected per year. The award consists of an engraved plate on a traveling plaque which is housed for one year at the recipient’s educational institution. The plate includes the recipient’s name, year awarded and educational institution. A framed certificate remains with the recipient, as well as a wildlife-related book that the MCTWS will select. The awardee will be recognized at the 2022 MCTWS Annual General Meeting, listed permanently on the MCTWS website as well as profiled on the Manitoba Chapter social media and in our newsletter.
